Eyewitness Media Ltd is a media company based near Leeds making ground-breaking TV and film from a visual, diverse perspective.
The company was set up by Charlie Swinbourne, a filmmaker, screenwriter and journalist who has made comedies, dramas and documentaries from a Deaf cultural perspective, in British Sign Language, for over 10 years.
Charlie’s creations as a writer/director include his RTS-award winning BSL comedy sketch show Deaf Funny, the Found documentaries, the Four Deaf Yorkshiremen comedies, and hit short film The Kiss.
As a screenwriter, he penned the dramas My Song and Departure Lounge, rude mockumentary Hands Solo, the mini-series The Fingerspellers and YouTube smash Coming Out. He also wrote the script for a short film for NSPCC explaining the charity’s Underwear Rule.
Charlie is also the editor of the world’s most popular Deaf blog, The Limping Chicken, which has clocked up over 6 million views since 2012.
